This is a quiet little spot where Yellow Creek takes a bend before its final 200' elevation change down to Otter Creek. It is a tired creek now as it has already dropped about 700 in the last 1.5 miles. It provides a pleasant lullaby to those lucky enough to be its guest for the night. Notice the yellow hue to the water. My daughter and I observed little crayfish scurrying around the bottom. This is not the cheap tent mentioned in the essay. That particular tent was never used again except to cover the lawn mower.

For true appreciation of all that we have become accustomed to we must learn to feel and experience real need for the basic necessities. Even better if can listen and be in the quiet " noise" of nature.
